So many new features are added on Facebook Messenger this days; last month we saw the introduction of Chat rooms on messenger which allows you to create or join a particular room that focus on a specific subject matter of interest to you.

Now, Facebook has rolled out Messenger groups video calling functionality that allows up to six people to see each other at the same time via group chat.

Like i earlier said, up to 6 persons can be seen simultaneously in any group video chat, but up to 50 persons can join in via voice – or by simply listening. Immediately the number of people on camera exceeds 6, only the dominant speaker will be seen by all other participants in the group chat.
This Group video chat is currently rolling out to Messenger’s website as well as its apps for Android and iOS devices. Interestingly, it is available to the whole world so no particular region is restricted.

According to statistics from Facebook, 245 million people make one-to-one video calls in a single month, and this number is surely gonna increase with this new feature. Don’t you think so?

To use group video chat;
✔ Download the latest version of Messenger from playstore and itunes respectively
✔ Launch the messenger app
✔ Go into an existing group conversation and tap the video icon in the upper right part of the screen.

✔ Now you are on the video chat and every member of that group will be notified of your presence.
✔ At this stage, anyone can join with a single tap.
✔ Additionally, you can call a select subset of people in the group.
